Adapting Literature for the Movies

The course will look at how cinema has used the written word over more than a century as the source and inspiration for so many movies across all genres – starting in the days of silent black and white shorts and then charting the success of literary adaptations over the different decades of the 20th century, concentrating primarily on English language films.

We are pleased to welcome back Stephen Poulter.  Stephen is a well-known East Anglian presenter and was important in the creation of Attleborough Lifelong Learning as an independent member-led community group.
